چکیده
Improving the performance of composite energetic materials comprised a solid metal fuel and source oxidizer (known as thermites) has long been pursued thermites for pyrolant flares rocket propellants. The thermites, involving aluminum fuel, can be dramatically improved by utilizing nanometer-sized particles (nAl) leading to vastly higher reaction velocities, owing high surface area nAl. Despite benefits increased area, there are still several problems inherent nanoscale reactants including particle aggregation, viscosity composited materials. nAl composites is cumbersome processing with inert polymer binder formulations, especially at mass loadings necessary industry standards. In order improve loaded energetics, was passivated covalently bound monolayers perfluorinated carboxylic acids (PFCAs) novel fluorinated solvent washing technique. This work also details quantitative binding these using infrared spectroscopy, in addition output from calorimetric thermogravimetric analysis.

A COOH-F-MWCNT-Nafion-Ru(bpy)(3) (2+)-Au-ADH electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) electrode using COOH-functionalized MWCNT (COOH-F-MWCNT) and Au nanoparticles synthesized by the radiation method was fabricated for ethanol sensing. A higher sensing efficiency for ethanol for the ECL biosensor prepared by PAAc-g-MWCNT was measured compared to that of the ECL biosensor prepared by PMAc-g-MWCN...
متن کاملSynthesis of Cu nanoparticles in mesoporous silica SBA-15 functionalized with carboxylic acid groups.
In this study, the mesoporous silica SBA-15 materials containing carboxylic acid groups were used as an effective support to synthesize Cu nanoparticles. Various Cu loading levels from 4% to 13% on SBA-15 catalysts produced an average particle size of 2.8 to 3.1 nm, regardless of the Cu content.
متن کاملThermal Stability of DNA Functionalized Gold Nanoparticles
Therapeutic uses of DNA functionalized gold nanoparticles (DNA-AuNPs) have shown great potential and exciting opportunities for disease diagnostics and treatment. Maintaining stable conjugation between DNA oligonucleotides and gold nanoparticles under thermally stressed conditions is one of the critical aspects for any of the practical applications. We systematically studied the thermal stabili...
متن کاملFormation of Carboxylic Acid Nanorods on Oleylamide-Capped Au Nanoparticles
This paper describes nanorod formation induced by nanoparticle seeds. Carboxylic acids self-assemble on graphite into an epitaxial pattern. However, this persistent pattern is changed into nanorods by nanoparticles. Two control parameters have been identified, including nucleus/substrate contact angle and seed-to-critical nucleus size ratio. Effective carboxylic chain length and nanoparticle si...
متن کاملHPLC determination of perfluorinated carboxylic acids with fluorescence detection
Perfluorinated carboxylic acids (PFCAs) represent an important group of persistent perfluorinated organic compounds commonly determined in environmental and biological samples. A reversed-phase HPLC method was developed based on derivatization of the PFCAs with the commercially available fluorescent reagent 3-bromoacetyl coumarin. The method was optimized and this resulted in the efficient sepa...
